Seth’s journey from humble beginnings as a kid just trying to figure out to do with his life, to the industry leading success Michaels Entertainment has grown to stands as a testament to his passion for his craft, loyalty to his team, and dedication to his customers.
In 2010, while still only 18-years-old, Seth took his first steps into the world of entertainment at the Basement Burger Bar in Downtown Farmington, where he hosted a modest trivia night. At the time he only vaguely suspected that this small-scale event would serve as a springboard for something bigger to come. Over the next three years, Seth’s entertainment company flourished, as he took on DJ and MC roles for nearly a dozen weekly public events across various local venues. Seth’s infectious energy and ability to create an electric atmosphere drew crowds, transforming ordinary evenings into extraordinary ones. It was during this time that Seth’s reputation began to grow, leading to requests for private events, including graduations, school dances, and birthday parties. Then he DJ’d his first wedding. Then his second. Then an even more unique opportunity came his way.
At the age of 21, Seth embarked on a new adventure by accepting a contract with Holland America Line as a cruise ship DJ/MC. Bidding farewell to his hometown, Seth spent half a year sailing the high seas. For the initial months, he performed across the Caribbean. As the voyage progressed, Seth traversed the Atlantic, passing through the iconic Straits of Gibraltar, before sailing through the Mediterranean where he would DJ and MC countless events from Greece to Italy, and even Turkey. His time at sea provided invaluable experiences and honed his skills as a versatile entertainer, able to pivot and cater to fit virtually any occasion.
Upon his return to land, Seth discovered that his once-thriving bar and club events had dwindled without his presence. Private events on the other hand were abundant. This turning point led Seth to rebuild Michaels Entertainment, with a renewed focus on private events, particularly upscale wedding productions. By force of shear willpower Seth manifested a vision to elevate the Michigan wedding DJ experience to new heights.
Over the course of nearly a decade, Michaels Entertainment has evolved and expanded its services to include wedding videography, event uplighting, and photobooth services. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a flourishing enterprise with dozens of team members and three full-time employees. Seth’s vision and dedication have fostered a company culture centered around providing remarkable service to clients and the community at large.
While overseeing the company, Seth has never lost his love for DJing weddings. Every weekend, he still takes to the turntables, infusing each celebration with his signature style. It is this personal touch that sets Seth apart from the crowd, ensuring that every wedding he DJs becomes an extraordinary experience for the couple and their guests.
